The Soy Food Program provides Women in Action and their children a nutritious meal once a week. The soy food is prepared by a different group of women each week. The women prepare the soy from the actual soy beans. The process begins by soaking the beans overnight. The beans are then washed and taken to be ground. After the beans are ground, they are boiled in water (4 liters of water for each pound of soy beans) and then strained. The soy milk fall through the cloth strainer. The soy meal is prepared into different dishes, including soy paddies, soy sausage, soup and stews.
