At the Peaceful Nature Wildlife Reserve, Compas is offering agroecology and organic farming workshops, courses, and tours for farmers and students. Agroecology is farming with nature and opposed to against it. It allows for higher yields while protecting ecosystems and promoting biodiversity.
Workshop topics include contour and no till farming, silage, biodigesters, forest gardening, organic insecticides and repellents, organic fertilizers and compost, biofertilizers, and mycorrhiza and beneficial fungi.
Nature and wildlife workshops with children
Compas de Nicaragua is also offering Nature and wildlife workshops and activities for children. Through arts and crafts, storytelling, nature walks, and bird and wildlife observation tours, children learn about trees, plants, animals and birds. They also learn about the importance of agroecology and organic farming for the prorection of ecosystems. Compas has organized a children's nature and wildlife club. The club will be receiving bird and animal watching workshops and trainings as well as learning about protecting natural resources.
