Our main activities are the following:
Sharing information and news about Compas, WIA and the La Paz Coop through monthly, online conference calls.
Organizing events (service trips, speaking tours and dance tours)
Promoting the work of Compas
Helping to raise funds for Compas de Nicaragua's work
If you are interested in being a part of this friendship group, please contact Executive Director, Michael Boudreau, [email protected].
Below is a short letter from Board member and Friends of Compas member, Heather Dowd.
Hello all,
My name is Heather Dowd and I am one of the Friends of Compas. I participated in four service trips to Nicaragua with the Nicaragua Club at Plymouth State University (Plymouth, NH) in the early 2000's and had the chance to return in 2017 for the 20th Anniversary trip of the PSU Nicaragua Club. More recently I have kept in touch with Compas and the communities it serves through conference calls.
I have been able to join almost all of the monthly conference calls so far and have enjoyed each one. There is a different focus each month and I have learned a lot about the current situation in Nicaragua in general, and about the different programs that Compas supports. If you haven’t yet had the opportunity to join a call, I hope that you will be able to soon. It is a wonderful way to keep in touch with our friends in Nicaragua!
